A new initiative brought together by local non-profit, Brook Kerith. Our concept is to continue a long history of the buildings at 510 West University in a new form. A space for non-profit organizations to operate and serve local citizens as well as a community space for health and wellness, arts, culture, and entertainment.

Even in a community as prosperous as our own, residents can find themselves in need. Groups with service in their hearts spend countless hours working to provide food, clothing, as well as mental and emotional support for people in crisis. These organizations must be mindful of every dollar spent. Finding space to operate in can be difficult when rents are high. Using this existing structure, that has served the area for generations, we can make space available while keeping monthly operating costs low.

Since forming the idea of revitalizing this building, a number of non-profit groups have met with us and are anxious to establish a base of operations within these walls. Among them are:

Gifts for All God’s Children

A Courageous Voice

New Day Foundation

Dutton Farm

We actively working with the Rochester School Board to arrange purchase of the property. You can see our most recent presentation to the board, outlining our intentions as well as commentary from other non-profit groups that look to operate out of this building (agenda 7, starting at 1:55 minutes) HERE.

Our goal is not to be landlords or property owners but, to act as stewards of this space and honor the spirit of community and education that has lived in these walls since this earliest days of the Rochester area.
